Aranka Derzsi is physicist currently working on glow discharge spectrometry at the Research Institute for Solid State Physics and Optics RISSP, Budapest, in the Laser Physics Department together with Zoltan Donko. She is an Early Stage Researcher (ESR) of the Analytical Glow discharge Network, a EC funded Marie Curie Research training Network. During her work as an ESR she mainly works on modelling Glow discharges in order to get a more detailed and better understanding how these discharges can be used for analytical purposes. In particular she has improved the model calculations by incorporating electron energy balance equation and has studied the effect of the secondary electron emission and the gas temperature on the electrical characteristics of the glow discharge. More information about her research project is available on the Gladnet website.
